Thanks, I went to the link you provided and bought those non-auto tubes.
Funny, prior to my posts I had Googled extension tubes looking for cheap
stuff to hack and only found the ususal auto types. It is amazing how eBay
has become such a valuable resource of new and used gear.

Ok, situation clear now.
Go buy some cheap (like these on eBay: http://tinyurl.com/m5epo)
non-electronic tubes and file the flange on the back piece. Use them only
for your Hartblei, not a big expenses, around $20-25.
