Hmmm. This makes absolutely no sense, but I hardly ever release the tension
on mine, which I would expect would only exacerbate the problem. No goo yet,
I guess mine must be about 2 years old, I got it when I picked up my 20D,
and I think they came out in 2004.

Wish I had a constructive suggestion....
