I need some Info on the Alone A2 main gear. Iam in t5he process of doing
an annual and want to replace the donuts to get the tail to the correct
height.
My question is " How much unrestrained free play should there be when the
plane is jacked up and the gear is fully extended." Sitting on the gear
there is 1" from the rubber bumper and the metal stop. When jacked up and
fully extended I can push the gear up a good four inches or more with
absolutely no effort or resistance from the shock strut. Is this normal.
I would think the strut would apply resistance until you get to the donuts
which would then make it in possible to move by hand. Iam wondering if
the strut is working at all? Any input would be appreciated. I would
also be interested in the detauis on the tool Lynn uses to disassemble
this unit in the field.
