Don,

If you want help from this group you may want to change the setting on your email so that you do not reject replies, it is hard to help if you reject the help and it is very rude.

Hi Don,

Yes if it is one of the synthetic fabrics and it has been hangared it may well still be fine. That is not to say that it may not be a good idea to put on new fabric so that all of the wing structure can receive a detailed inspection. The new cover systems last about as long as the dope (paint like filler system) used on them. I see more fabric with failed dope than I see failed fabric unless it is cotton.

Best regards,
Vern

Is there any way that an Ercoupe fabric wing that has 20 year old fabric
does not need new fabric?
Let us assume that it only has 4 or 5 hundred hours of flying on it and
has always been hangered in a dry region of the country.
