Maybe you hate the term because you've imposed an incorrect definition on
it?

Really? Not in my 4 years of experience with etree. I've found that alot of
shows I've downloaded have dumb, avoidable flaws. Granted, I stopped
hounding random servers a little while ago, so this may have changed
nowadays.

Yes, because if the show has PA problems, EVERY tape from that show has the
same PA problems. Therefore, the PA problems are no longer obstacles to dank
the show. But I'd rather have a show with PA problems that was transferred
under the scrutiny of a bunch of anal retentive people who are seriously
interested in long lasting archives of all these cool shows, than a show
with PA problems that someone haphazardly transferred with sector boundary
clicks, non-uniform naming conventions, neato yet pointless fades at the end
of each disc, etc, etc.

It's really all about peace of mind. Its just nice to know that a reasonable
effort was made to find a nice source of a show, and then it was scrutinized
by 5 people checking for errors, and if any errors were found, they were
investigated. If any error is found to be completely unavoidable (ie, on
the master DAT, such as PA problems) then it's allowed, but is DOCUMENTED.
Some of us hate surprises.

Of course we can always still just download standard non-danked etree seeds,
I know I do, they're great. But why not just enjoy the dankseeds as well?

Take care,
Jeremy
