I suppose it's *possible* that Lenin, Trosky and co might have achieved some sort of change if the rest of the world hadn't ganged up on them, but their vision was well and truly scuppered by the nations around them who were utterly terrified that their workers might also demand fair pay, or something equally reprehensible.
