Picking on minor points with tangential comments while ignoring the main part of what was said, starting agreements or restatements with "But" as though disagreeing, using strong/provocative language as though making some important statement (invariably appearing to contradict what I've just said) then backing down when challenged with comments to the effect of "oh no what on earth made you think I meant *that?*", and generally giving the impression of sniping does, however, have something to do with me, in that I'm often on the receiving end of it.
