As far as I understand this argument, it is that there is nothing to
consciousness beyond the information processing. This can be
described in various ways: that consciousness does not exist, that
it is an illusion, that it is epiphenomenal.
Thanks for summing up. If we translate in arithmetic, this is like
saying []p <-> []p & p.
That is true, but only in God's view: G* proves []p <-> []p & p.
(trivially as we assume the machine arithmetically sound)
But G does not prove this, and the machine is just blaspheming, if she
thought that she can equate []p with []p & p. She confuse her body
with her inner god (the soul, the "first person"). She get not just
unsound, but also inconsistent. She lies or makes a big mistake.
