You're bending the terminology away from the original argument. The question isn't whether our naive beliefs about the nature of the world are adapted precisely to its fundamental characteristics. Of course they aren't - that's why scientific enquiry exists as a corrective. The question is rather whether the fundamental nature of the physical world we observe with the aid of scientific rigour is constrained to produce the conditions for its own observation. This is very far from being a conjecture dreamed up by yours truly, as you are of course aware.
