I have used the term “computationalism” during many years. I use “mechanism” after some people ask for a simple word than computationlism. Of course I meant Indexical Digital Mechanism, which means YD + CT (saying oneself Yes to the Doctor proposing an artificial digital brain/body/environement if necessary, or assuming the soul is invariant for some functional substitution done at some level of description of the brain/body/envirnment) and CT is for Church-Turing thesis). > Why don't you find a word that actually means what you want to say ? Mechanism is the standard word, since Descartes, at least. I am not sure what you mean by “what I want to say”.
