OBE does not require an explanation as we have no B. It is the “mystery” of the belief in a body which is partially explained (entirely at its propositional level). The body belongs to the number imagination. The OBE state is our natural state (our = of us the universal numbers, not just the human). We “live” in arithmetic, ur bodies are temporary virtual avatar, somehow. I guess to makes sense of this, you need to study a bit of mechanist philosophy of mind or theology. NDE might perhaps be explainable in a similar way. But like with telepathy, some people makes claims which are hard to verify, and which would be harder to explain, at least assuming a level relatively high and consistent with the Darwin-like explanation of life evolution.
