You need to read some books. You have to back up the Microsoft Exchange
Information Store as an object, not as an .edb file.

maybe I'm understanding it wrong, didn't know I had another choice.  Tried 
backing up the *edb file, but am told 'file in use' and won't backup.

With the individual backup (the only way I've gotten it to run), I have 
been able to restore users's files (someone deleted a subfolder of their 
email), etc.  For the type of restores that I've needed to do, it seemed to 
be working fine.

Is there a better way (or a pointer to types I could examine) to be backing
up?
