OK, I will try to clear up the roll bar issue. I have built & homologated
many cars with the SCCA. Roll bars must have forward facing roll bar
braces
of a minimum tube diameter of 1.0" x .083" wall DOM steel tubing.
However,
if you want to have an alternative design approved that is possible. You
must supply a load & stress analysis of the alternative roll bar design
completed & signed by licensed PE (Professional Engineer).
That clears up a lot. The one legal design alternative involves the gussets,
correct?
