---It has been my expereince that when I did the puja I noticed a
change in my state of conciousness(this was variable in terms of how
strong the effect was).I also noticed an increase in the experience of
shakti-Kundalini-chi or whatever you want to call it(IOW an energetic
change in the body).I believe that these changes happen to anyone who
is doing the puja properly, although the changes are likely to vary
from person to person and from one performance to another.I believe
that by doing the puja the giving of the mantra takes on a power it
would not otherwise have. For someone who is already in a highly
elevated state of conciousness with "shakti"to spare(eg MMY) doing the
puja maybe unnecessary. As far as independent teachers are concerned I
believe that their effectiveness in teaching would depend on how
closely they stick to teaching they way they were taught and also how
"pure" their intentions are.Kevin
