Actually, NOT any form of meditation does that.Tibetan Nyingmapa and Kagyupa 
meditation 
techniques have a radically different affect on subjects as measured EEG and 
brain imaging. 
Restful alertness ala TM is quite different than whatever is happening during 
those 
techniques. Also, thalamic activity during those techniques goes UP rather than 
down, as it 
does during TM. 

What long-term differences might be found in ADHD patients who practice those 
techniques 
as compared to TMers isn't known. The data on ADHD and TM are still being 
evaluated and I 
haven't heard of any studies on the Buddhist techniques and ADHD..

I understand the data from the first few months has been submitted for 
publication while the 
data from the followup study is being evaluated right now.
