Thank you for the explanation :)  I think my hangup is in the definite
number of rpms for the motor, while when you are treadling, the rpm
varies.  But I think I get it now...the rpms of the motor are just like
treadling, say, 60 per minute.  After that, the ratio takes over to
determine what speed the flyer (or spindle) will actually go.

I think I get it!  I guess we'll buy a bigger pulley for the electric
spinner :)
