When I comb Icelandic on 2-pitch Viking combs, I can pull a top off the
combs with the first section I pull off being mostly Tog and the last
section being mostly Thel. It isn't precise, but it works fairly well.

I have read that the viking combs were used to separate the tog and thel
before spinning, but if so, it's not obvious how that happens to me. If I
were to actually separate them, it seems I'd have to pull the tog out by
hand.
