When the rows are staggered, they are called "pitch" and when they are
just one behind the next they are "rows" if I am recalling correctly.
My Viking combs are two rows, as opposed to two-pitch. My English combs
are five-pitch. I actually comb the Icelandic with one of the combs
fixed to the table with a comb-pad I use and the second comb "working."
I then pull the top off as I described in my first reply.

Pitch? Do you mean the number of rows on each comb? I've got two rows on
each comb, and again.... still not obvious to me how it works.
By the way, are the rows supposed to alternate spacing with each other, or
line up? I've seen both.
