I didn't go to them, to read them for pleasure. It's just while looking up one word, my eye would catch the word at the top of the page. Which would send me scurrying to look up _that_ word. Where I'd find the top-of-the-page-word, and have to go look that one up...sort of endless loop. In school, I got points off for spelling 'gray' as 'grey'. One's American, the other British. Frankly, grey is grey. I see it as a particular color. The word 'gray' isn't that color.
