I do not knit in public, or spin, but that is because I am a bit shy. I do go up to those who are knitting and comment, ask what they are knitting and strike up a conversation. I feel if a person is brave enough to knit in public, they will accept strangers talking and then it gets to be such fun. I am hoping to try to knit or spin in public. I do it in art galleries, craft shows and other places, so just have to expand my horizons. Good for you. I have discovered that those who do knit, or other interesting things are definitely not primitive, but often highly educated and competent. I mean, there is my daughter who knits constantly on the bus. She is a teacher.
