Re: knitting in public

I must admit that whenever i see the Subject line , Knitting in Public , i 
have to smile, becuase i just knit/crochet whereever i can. in my bag i 
always have some thing in the working + a book , i do something whenever i 
have to wait or sit [ or even stand]. I take comments or non comments with 
the same mood ,, as a human reaction.
In Israel , people tend to talk with strangers , much more than 
i ever experienced in Europe or America.
I have experienced that some women [ vert few but they are out there] joke 
or say some bitter remark about it, maybe because they are threatend by 
it, by the ability of those of us who do it seem to be content with not 
`wasting` our time and do something creative. This is not a Scientific 
observation, But i tend to ask more and hear lots of reactions.
I find that as long as i do not disturb nore make noises, i can do it.
