Hello everyone -
I've just dug out and installed a copy of Finale 2002 that I've had for 4
years, and am starting to work my way through the tutorials. I should add
that I'm an experienced Sibelius user, looking to round out my knowledge of
these two programs. I'm not in the least bit interested in flames about
one or the other - just so you know ;-) I am sure they each have their
strengths and weaknesses. For the record, I am primarily a composer of,
for lack of a better term, contemporary classical concert music, although
I am also an educator involved in jazz, rock and world musics. I am
working under Windows XP Pro, on a fast laptop.
All that said, I have already run into a problem, and I'm not sure if it's
something that can be readily identified over the Internet, and that is
that the Mass Mover doesn't seem to work for me. I'm just diligently
working through tutorial 1a, but when I select the MM, highlight a measure
and click and drag it to the next measure, when i release the mouse button
it just goes back to having the original measure selected. Am I missing
something obvious?
Also, in terms of an eventual upgrade, am I missing something really big
having as old a version as 2002? I'm sure it will serve to learn the
program, but I hope it will not make it difficult for people here to advise
when necessary.
