Only because in this case I am choosing for them to be unlinked. They can be linked, but then you may find that the contraints placed on you by that linkage are more than you want to put up with. My whole point is that *even if you can't tolerate the contraints* you can still benefit from the feature. It is not a simple use/don't use choice. And Tyler's point about protactively editing the score and the part at the same time is well-taken. You could do this even if still chose to use a separate file for every part. You really have to use it to see what the fuss is about. FWIW: it is quite likely that if your score uses standard notation (e.g., no beams over barlines), does not combine multiple parts onto one staff, or does so in a simple homophonic way, that you can use the feature to its full extent with fully linked score and parts. It will require a learning curve, but you can do it. The fact is, Fin07 will change your workflow no matter which way you choose to work. It probably will have the biggest impact on your workflow of any release in recent memory. _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [email protected] http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
