Pressing "escape" for cancel is even one less keystroke than apple-.
I have found that keystrokes are quicker and more accurate than
mousing around.

I understand it is technically an OS bug but it seems to only
afflict Finale -- not any other app I own. I am not sure why this is
but I have gotten used to using those shortcuts.
