Thanks for the responses.
To answer the questions:
- car vibrates in neutral, but vibes become more pronounced as RPM
rises. There's a "sweet spot" around 2000-2500 where the vibration
seems less intense.
- car vibrates at idle, around 800 RPM
- Transmission -- 4-speed Richmond manual
One thing I've noticed -- the vibration rattles the dashboard (I can
hear the car keys jingle!) when I let go of the clutch a little too
soon, so I tend to over-correct with the gas pedal.

Dan,
Can you feel the car vibrate in neutral, or does it only occur when
the car is in gear? Do you have an auto or manual trans, and does the
vibration only occur in certain gears? Does the vibration occur at
idle,
or only when the engine is revving? There should be no vibration in
your
car. If the vibration is bad enough that you are worried about bolts
loosening, then replacing the seats is not what you need to do.
Depending on the answers to the above questions, there are several
things you need to check. If the vibration only occurs when you are
driving, then have the u-joints and driveshaft checked and
balanced. If
it happens at idle, check the motor mounts and transmission mount. If
it happens in gear, it could be something in the trans or torque
converter. If it happens all of the time, see if your body bushings
are
shot. I assume that since you have taken it to a shop that they
checked
the obvious stuff, like an exhaust pipe or muffler resting on the body
somewhere, but I would look for this as well. I'm sure there are
other
things to look at, but these come to mind right off.
