First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ......................................................................... there`s nothing that's too simple....after working on my tranny for 'leaks' that made the car smoke over 80 mph (on acceleration) ,and people telling me it smelled like ATF...
I rebuilt tranny 2 times, once with another case...re sealed it several times before...at a total of close to $3000... I found the problem ....it was an old dip stick that was weak in the ZZ area and slightly pushed out ,let engine oil drip to the exhaust.... $14.00 solved it...and no labor...just pull it out ,replace with new!
