When I had my first 69 firebird 400 back in 73, 14,000 miles when I bought it,
it had a similar vibration.  Over the time I owned it I went thru at least
three sets of tires, different shocks, front and rear aftermarket sway
bars with not much improvement.  The ONLY thing that helped was to have the
tires dynamically balanced while on the car.  I don't know if anyone even does
that anymore.  It was not a terrible vibration, it was livable but
irritating.  I think, but I'm not sure, was that the problem started when I
went from the original bias ply wide oval tires to radial tires.  There was a
huge change in the car as far as high speed handling when I switched to the
radials.  When it had the original tires I ran it up to redline in third gear
(TH400) and it hit 134 mph.  I don't recall any signicant vibration even at
that speed.  But when I put radials on it the fastest I could drive it was 90
miles per hour.  Anything over that and it
because very unstable, like the front  or rear end was lifting off othe
ground.  Not sure why, only thing I could think of was that the radials
probably made it sit one or two inches lower which may have affected the
airflow under the car making the front or rear lift.

My FB does great until about 55-60 and then starts into a vibration that
could rattle your teeth out. I have checked driveline, tire balance,
rear end but cannot figure out what is causing it. I am in the process
of ordering a front end kit and am hoping that solves the problem...any
suggestions out there?
