You could put a small magnet in the drain hole and fish it out that way.

I have NEVER pulled valve springs to break in a cam EVER. 

Seems like overkill. Especially on a street motor .

Bet you'll never do that again.

Comp is just covering their ass by doing a wimpy break in as possible so you
don't accidentally wipe their cam and blame them.
