Something I've had luck with tiny lost parts before: Empty out the shop-vac and then vacuum every nook and cranny. Then check the canister and see what you come up with. I have never tried it on a motor, but its worth a shot with the rest of the front end. This trick has shortened the search for many tiny screws in my shop, just be sure to empty the canister first!! Especially on a street motor . Bet you'll never do that again. Comp is just covering their ass by doing a wimpy break in as possible so you don't accidentally wipe their cam and blame them.
