I took the hard route and ported a set of 6X-4's for my 455 conversion. I ended 
up with 9.5:1, which was my goal. In hindsight, buying a set of Edlebrocks 
would have been a lot easier and not too much more expensive. I spent $200 for 
the heads, about $600 in machine work, extra $30 for 1.77 exhaust seats, about 
$50 for porting kit, who knows how much in electricity (took about 3 weeks in 
the evenings porting), and then I had to buy all the parts (springs, retainers, 
locks, seals, valves....about $250). On the upshot, I have bragging rights for 
doing it myself, the knowledge gained, and I can still say it's 
Pontiac....probably should have just bought the Edlebrocks, lol
