BTW. XML makes extending the existent layout without influencing the previous versions possible by nature.
All that would need to happen is for someon to write a plib reader/writer for the xgl format and then we can begin using it. The modelers would have to figure out how to output in this format which could be a little trickier.
Somehow I sense a very load "HINT! HINT!" here ...
