Oops. Sorry. Now you got me. I just added that second part and didn't
test it.  :-)
BTW: in my setup I've just moved jscal.sh to /usr/local/sbin/, though
/etc isn't entirely wrong.

Did you calibrate before you dumped the calibration script? I didn't
mention that, as I considered it logical.  :-)

  # jscal -c /dev/input/js0                 # calibrate first, then ...
  # jscal -p /dev/input/js0 >/etc/jscal.sh  # dump the script
