I have a Saitek Cyborg EVO joystick which works out of the box with
FlightGear.
However, not well using the default driver. You might check and see if
FlightGear has your brand/model of joystick correctly set.
I will mention that every 3 axis joystick that I have tried have a
problem centering (sitting idle). The position values never seem to be
stable. This stick's down<center>up varies value as shown with any of
the joystick tools. I did take it apart and moved/repositioned wires
which did help. Putting it's snap case back together was a
challenge(HiHi). Look for "jscal" as one joystick tool
