Linden,

Try following this link to MS's website and download the latest RTM release
for the Microsoft Data Access Components(MDAC).

http://www.microsoft.com/data/download.htm

Also make sure you are using the latest service pack from Protel SP6.

Having both of these installed should at least eliminate them as a possible
problem.

Hope that helps.

Subject: [PEDA] My protel won't load DDBs

Greetings all,

I suppose this should teach not to take holidays....(maybe Protel is
sulking)

I started Protel this morning after a week's break and all seemed OK
until I actually tried to load a DDB. Any attempt to load a DDB is met with
the "New Database" dialogue box and the statement that the document I have
tried to open must be imported into a new DDB. This is with DDBs that worked
happily last week.

It is possible that somebody has fiddled with the computer while I was
away, but what could have been changed to produce this behaviour.

The Repair Database utility does not help in this situation.

Should I simply do a re-install of Protel or can anyone offer some less
drastic suggestions.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Best Regards,
