Thanks to Colby, Dan, Dwight, Jason, Burt and Geoff,

    Your suggestions are much appreciated.

Unfortunately they have not helped with my problem.

I am able to open the DDBs on another machine here so it would appear to
rule out DDB corruption

I am loathe to fiddle with the ODBC drivers. The last time I tried
updating these was about 6 months ago (from the address supplied) and it
knocked my PC out for a couple of days. I was eventually able to recover but
it is not something I would like to try again.

Geoff's suggestion of deleting the configuration files and letting
Protel replace them with virginal ones did not work either - the problem
remained.

And here I was hoping that a nice rest over the weekend would allow
Protel to contemplate the error of its ways....

I guess there is nothing for it now but to remove and reinstall Protel.

One final request for advise though....
When removing Protel do I have to uninstall the Service Pack first (or
all service packs individually - SP4, 5 & 6) or is simply uninstallinf
Protel99SE sufficient to exorcise all Protel demons from my system?

Thanks again guys. This forum provides value beyond measure.

Best Regards,
