Hi all, I have also had my share of frustrations with the support (for over 4 years now). As someone else said previously, I've usually chalked it up to turnover and that position being severely under-staffed. That's a reason, not an excuse.
Those of us who attended the conference in Vegas last month heard a new vision for the future, as well as an admission that they've fallen short in the past. In case there was any doubt, I'd say this thread has highlighted in BOLD RED LETTERS, one critical area. I'm as eager as anyone to hear the response. But... a reminder - Back in February, Joe Fedor of Printable announced on this forum that they plan soon to launch a separate forum geared towards the web-to-print side of the product. This is something that I've pushed for - and it's very welcome news to me. For those of you who are fairly new here, this forum was originally intended to address issues with the FusionPro/Acrobat application. Most web-to-print or Printable Manager issues have been deflected in the past. With the plans to launch a web-to-print forum, I suspect Printable has decided to no longer discourage any such questions here. This is not to suggest that they can ignore the email support troubles, but I truly believe a forum for the Manager side is our best option for support there. As you've seen here, quite often there are several ways to skin a cat. Reading the varied ways users (and engineers) solve problems not only helps the person posing the question, but also any others on the forum who are following the thread. I have learned much about FusionPro from this forum that I likely would not have learned on my own, OR from Printable email support. It's also very handy to be able to word-search previous posts on the forum website - a feature I suspect is often overlooked. Of course the success of such a forum will depend on our participation as well as our commitment to keeping it CONSTRUCTIVE (note: "constructive" doesn't always have to mean "positive"). We all have days (and weeks) when we're too slammed to really participate, and personally I hesitate to answer a question if I'm not absolutely sure of my solution. But I've noticed lately a bunch of questions here going unanswered. We should all work to avoid that. I believe input from the engineers will also be critical on this new forum. I echo what others have said: Printable has many great people on the team who seem committed to improving the product - which is already a pretty good one when compared with the other top tier products in the game (especially in price!). They've got some work to do though. Support seems to have been a huge blind spot, and I don't know why. It CAN be a GREAT product! I want nothing more than to see that, and I heard Printable say that we will be a part of that process (see the "Product Roadmap" in the Resource Center). This seems like a pretty good place to start ! Sincerely, Todd Ball Spectrographics Denver [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Users of FusionPro Desktop have unlimited free email support.
