Glad you've had good experiences with them. I have not. Keep in mind that Buy.com carries NO inventory. They broker everything to 3rd parties, apparently without much vetting. What's good today may come from some other vendor tomorrow. My first problem with buy.com was over a fairly large purchase. The box arrived crushed, because it had basically no packing material in it. Their response: file a claim with UPS. But it turned out that they'd completely misrepresented the total value of the package, so UPS refused to pay. Then there was the external HD... One small air "pillow" as packing material. Again, they told me to hit up UPS. UPS refused because the package was packed incorrectly. Then Buy.com then told me to contact the manufacturer for a warranty replacement... Seagate identified the s/n as part of the close-out bulk sale made to a foreign company, with no warranty. My credit card issuing bank, when I filed the chargebacks, told me that complaints against buy.com were common etc. FWIW, - Dan. -- - Psychoceramic Emeritus; South Jersey, USA, Earth --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to Low End Mac's G-Books list, a group for those using G3 iBooks and PowerBooks (we run a separate list for G4 'Books).
