This was a super response. Really helps me get a clear idea about the Pismo. In fact, I feel like the Pismo will be a solid enough choice that I really won't be missing anything at all by going with it. I appreciate the tolerably vs intolerably notes, too. I can live with a certain amount of delay. When I start getting cranky about slowness, I recall how much I actually used to accomplish years ago with my old PB1400 and Power Mac 7300 . :D
