Hi,
I've been using OSX on an internal drive for some
time.
Now booting it gives:
Default catch! code=FFF00700 at %SRRO: 01C00570
00083070
Open Firmware 2.0f1
To boot from MacOS type BYE enter
To boot from default boot device type BOOT enter
To boot from Open Firmware serial I/O type TTYA I/O

if I type Boot (hoping for the internal drive with X,
I get 'Boot Claim failed'
TTYA etc. gives a dark sceen and no HDD spin
only MacOS works, booting to an external SCSI drive
with two partitions (first = OSX, second = OS9) into
OS9.
If you think the internal drive is dead, it is not
because when I boot the external OSX (see above), the
internal IDE drive hums nicely and mounts.
I feel like deleting some files (how to tell if
they're corrupt?) on the internal drive and replacing
them with
'good' files from the external OSX HDD partition.
Complete re-install - maybe, but lately the Install CD
hasn't been seeing the internal drive. I suspect a
firmware problem (based on above) - does CUDA do
anything, or maybe PRAM reset 10 times?
Thanks
George
