But you can download the latest virus definitions and install them, and
copy them to a floppy too. And then if you boot from the Norton Antivirus
CD, and then hold down the option key as you double-click on the Antivirus
application, a dialog box will open, asking you which definition file you
want to use. Navigate to the floppy, or to your Norton Antivirus Additions
folder (in your hard drive>System Folder>Extensions Folder) and use the
latest definitions.

And having lots of RAM does no good, unless you have increased the RAM
allocation given to an application (in its Get Info box), at least for OS
versions less than X.
