Liliana,

I haven't done an altimate test, but I deleted the Preference files, then
rebooted, TaDa! Also deleted the Preference file for the Harts game, That
wasn't working and developed a personality. Now that works.

AOL as a browser has its own problems. It does not have any History, and you
can't decide that this branch is bogus and simply go back to a previous link.
With only 32 MB of memory, there wasn't enough to browse. There was until
installed some picture viewing thing, which got installed into AOL instead of
the HD.

What isn't mentioned by the data that comes with the application is that
everything is created in modules, with helper applications. Something mat be
listed as needing 10 MB to run, but that is the main section of the [rpgram,
not all the extra pieces that handle oictures and movies and sound, etc.

Having done programming, and having written a 1,000 line TACL Routine (a
Tandem Computer command interpreter), which reported SQL database anoma;ies,
I am familiar with the conce[t of creatng a supervisory skeleton that makes
the decisions, and the working pieces that actually do the work.

In fact, I purposely wrote TACL routines to check the version of the
operating system that it was working on, and to select the appropriate
version of the code to run on that syste,. In a mini-computer ntework, the
system that you are running on - the one that your command interpreter is
running on, mat be different from the version that of the OS that you are
working on.

We work on a PC of some variety on our desktops, and deal with one version of
whatever. But in a network composed of 255 systems (theoretically), there
may be several version of OS. I am running 8.1, you may be running 8.6 or 9,
other people are running something else. But I am not running an application
on my system, under 8.1, to do something on your system, which may be running
8.6/

Guess you hit a funnybone on this one. I do miss working in tht environment.
