Yes, it was a typo. F and G are close together. I guess this means there is no inherent way for the OS to do a defrag like windows does then?
The best way to defrag (I assume you had a typo) is if you have a second hard drive that is large enough to have a copy of the original just copy from drive a to b, boot from b and initialize a and then copy back to a. That's the easiest way (without software).
Otherwise, look at the disk utility programs. I hear rave reviews from this list members and the g-books list about DiskWarrior. I haven't had many problems myself with NU but I use it ever so rarely (my yearly defrag on the 60GB drive that I have running in my Win2K unit in the office -- Yes, it's formatted HFS+).
