I am getting ready to pick up a DVD burner and something is puzzling me and I am wondering if anyone here can enlighten me. I am looking at the Pioneers and it appears that the 105 and 106 are basically identical, except that the 106 will do DVD±R/RW and the 105 will only do DVD-R/RW, but not DVD+R/RW. However, the 105 is almost always $15-20 more than the 106.

Does anyone know why the 105 is more expensive than the 106? Is there something I am missing? Or did Pioneer drop the price on the 106 and dealers get stuck with 105s at the higher price and are not cutting their price on the 105s because of what they payed for them?

TIA,
Len

Here where I live, they were selling 105s for $30 less than the new 106.
