And there is always tricks you can play on the seller. I know a guy who bought a 10 GB 2nd Gen iPod at Best Buy and got the Best Buy warranty where they will replace it at no cost if it breaks for three years. (Apple now offers AppleCare warranties on iPods.) He took his 10 GB back, told the guy it was broken and Best Buy gave him a new 15 GB 3rd Gen iPod.
Must have been a dumb Best Buy employee. My Sony Clie broke. It was under extended warranty but Sony had stopped making that model. So I had to pay the difference between what I had paid and the cost of a new one.
