Yeah, check to be sure the equipment is new. My Olympus C-2100 UZ was 
labeled as "factory reconditioned." Not remanufactured; reconditioned. 
I knew this before I bought it. The camera was originally sold to a 
vendor in TX that went belly up and Olympus bought the cameras back and 
had to label them "reconditioned" which meant only that they opened the 
box, made sure all the accessories where in there and the camera worked 
and then sold it. When I bought the camera a couple of years ago it was 
already "yesterday's news" so finding a brand new one was unlikely. I 
did not get an extended warranty and have had no problems with. It came 
with a 90 day warranty.
