>I have a g3 desktop with a pioneer dvd burner I installed. I understand I >need a Radeon 7000 to view dvds, but do I also need a dvd decoder?
No, you do not need a decoder, it is built into the Radeon >I'm confused on this point. There is a 7000 that I have viewed on ebay that is >flashed for the mac with DVI, s video and Vga connectors. Flashed cards work fine. If you do not need DVI and S video, you can save some money buy getting a card that has VGA out only- I am using a VGA only 32meg flashed card in my maxed out beige MT running 10.2.8 You will need Pacifist or a similar application to extract Apples DVD player from your 10.2 installation disks. 10.2 does not install the DVD player on beige machines during installation. Also get a copy of the VideoLan Client for more playback options. Note that if you use the pciextreme hack to enable Quartz Extreme with the Radeon, DVD playback may suffer.
