As for your "issues", computer hardware is not perfect. I wouldn't blame the OS. Things ain't pretty on the Windows side of the world either....

How come? Well, say the techs at Apple and OWC, OS X doesn't like a lot of the hardware it finds in PCI slots: USB, SCSI, or non-Apple video cards. So, what am I supposed to do, to get X to install on my computer? "Pull all your cards" they tell me. "Pull all your RAM except the first stick. Take all the fonts out of your Fonts folder. Put the old CD burner back in. Try this. Try that."
Damn, I only wanted to install OS X, not rip the guts out of my entire computer system trying.
If OS X is so fragile and fussy to install, then Apple can keep it. OWC agreed to take back the install CDs I bought from them and refund my money. Now if only I can get Apple to take back the iLife suite I bought (fat chance, I bet). I'll buy Toast 5 for OS 9 to burn my DVDs.
OS X sucks!
