I've scanned over six thousand slides with mine and still have another three thousand to go. Works flawlessly. If you are interested I would be happy to let you use mine when I'm done with my slides. My first SLR was a Minolta and I was surprised and saddened when they went out of business. I've noticed a number of Minolta scanners on e-bay and at reasonable prices. I got mine on the LEM swap list and have been very pleased with it. Good luck.
