Generally in a warlike scenario there's so much confusion I don't 
know if that would make a difference. But it throws you off-balance 
because of the recoil or the kick of the gun. People describe it 
sometimes as feeling like the gun bucks in your hand... and with 
certain guns, that movement is huge and can easily throw someone off.
