Yes there seems to be quite a bit of interest in this which is pretty cool. Yes you are right that there are definitely some gaming aspects to operating these things. As I think I mentioned in an earlier message one needs to have pretty good spatial understanding to operate these things especially things like the helis. Also the type of hand/ear coordination that we develop for gaming is very useful for flying these models around or driving them as the case may be. As for engaging in mock battles my wife and I will occasionally drive my two 1/24 scale tanks around the house and see who can score the most hits with their infrared cannon.
